Certification is done by officially accredited Certification Bodies who are approved by the Joint Accreditation System for Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ). Right now there are two officially accredited bodies providing certification of fire extinguishers for Australia and New Zealand.
Firebox chose BSI Certification to certify its fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets. BSI is the world's most recognized certification body and a leading global provider of assessment and certification solutions. With more than 60,000 certified locations and clients in over 100 countries worldwide BSI was a logical choice for Firebox.
Firebox extinguishers and hose reels are also certified by ACTIVFIRE.
ACTIVFIRE is an Australian Government Agency who certify fire products which may be installed into Federal and State Government Departments.
All Firebox certified products carry the BSI and JAS-ANZ logos, and these two marks ensure that you receive the highest quality products, tested to Australian Standards.
Please note booster valves Firebox supplied between May 2013 and August 2016 were not subject to formal WaterMark certification. In February 2013 as we were advised by our certifier that WaterMark certification was no longer available for AS2419.3 standard. Once we were aware the booster valves have been added back onto the certification schedule the products were WaterMark certified. During this period of time, all the booster valve products were fully approved to AS 2419.3 standard by BSI Benchmark.
Firebox's booster valve assemblies at all times complied with AS 2419.3. Accordingly, being manufactured from stainless steel, they were also fully compliant with the requirements for, and were eligible for, WaterMark certification. Notwithstanding that in strict terms the booster valves were not WaterMark certified as such, they were at all times fully Watermark compliant. Our certifiers have investigated the event and have determined no action is required as the product was technically compliant, and the watermark omission was owing to an administrative error outside of Firebox's control.
