Product Information:

Roadsafe 4WD Recovery Hitch range include these Standard Length Rear Tow Points. Suited to most vehicles with a 50x50mm hitch receiver on the vehicles towbar.
Available in a range of colours, these 50mm recovery hitches in aluminium with WLL 5000kgs are designed & tested in the toughest conditions. All Roadsafe 4WD tow point & hitch designs are destruction tested during development to ensure they are rated at a level they can withstand.
The new alloy hitch destruction testing was halted at 16 tonne due to test equipment limitations NOT these hitch limitations, with no signs of deformation within the hitch at this force.

Featuring Multi Hole for mounting the hitch either vertical or horizontal depending on your recovery needs.

  • Multi Holes for either vertical or horizontal mounting
  • Fits ARB Rear Bars
  • Fits most 50mm receivers
  • Light weight
  • Rated to 5000kg

Bow Shackle

Shackles are an essential recovery item & you can never have too many of them. They are most commonly used to attach recovery straps, tree trunk protectors, winch extension straps & snatch blocks. The larger 4.7 tonne shackles are best suited to electric winch recovery situations. The most commonly used shackle is the "Bow" because its shape allows for bulky items to be easily attached. Shackles should only be used on vehicles fitted with rated points featuring closed eyelets.

Pro Tip : To avoid seizing the screw pin, it's always a good idea to back off about 1/2-Full turn after fully hand tightening. Shackle Pins can seize due to the force exerted during recovery operations

  • Essential item for your recovery kit
  • Rated 4750kg
  • High Visibility
  • Heavy Duty
  • Use with recovery straps, winch extension straps, snatch blocks & tree trunk protectors
  • Bow shape allows bulky straps to be attached easily
  • Complies with AS/NZS 27141.2002

Snatch Strap

Roadsafe offer a great range of Recovery Straps, with each one individually designed to suit its purpose. This is so you can have the right strap for the right application. The Roadsafe Recovery straps are tested to certified standards, fully stamped & tagged rated, come complete with fully sewn eyes & protective sleeves.

  • 9M length
  • 75mm width
  • WLL (kgs) 8000kgs
  • Protective sleeve
  • Sewn in eyelets
  • Certified to comply with Australian Standards

Always INSPECT the Tow Points and shackles before each use. Do not use if there are visible signs of damage or wear (including cracking or elongation). Do not exceed the Working Load Limit (WLL) of the shackle or Tow Points. Always STAY A SAFE DISTANCE away from the recovery area – at least 1.5 times the length of the recovery strap. Incorrect use of recovery equipment can result in serious injury or death.

Always ensure that adequate PREPARATION for the recovery, to minimise the strain on either vehicle, has been undertaken i.e. Digging, Rock placement etc. If you do not understand how to use this equipment safely or are uncomfortable with your abilities in the use of recovery equipment, please complete a course that specialises in four wheel driving & 4WD vehicle recovery.

Caution : Shackles can become a lethal missile if something should break or fail during a recovery. Ensure that all spectators are well clear & all recovery lines have a dampening blanket on them. NEVER load a shackle across its width because the load will be imposed on the threads. The force must be at right angles to the pin.

Warning : Always follow product instructions. It is important to correctly attach the recovery strap to the vehicle. A standard towball or tie-down point IS NOT designed to be used as a recovery point. It may result in the strap or vehicle components detaching from the vehicle & causing serious damage to a vehicle or person. Only attach a recovery strap to a suitably rated recovery point or device that is suitably rated for use with the strap. Incorrect use has previously resulted in serious injury & death.
