Fitting larger tyres like 35s to your Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series can unlock serious off-road potential, but it also introduces new clearance issues that the factory steering setup just isn’t designed to handle. One of the most common problems? The front wheels making contact with the inside of the guards at full lock. Not only can this cause panel damage and rubbing, but it also puts unwanted stress on steering and suspension components over time.
The Superior Weld-On Extended Steering Stop Kit is designed to eliminate this issue by safely limiting the amount of steering travel. Manufactured specifically for the LC300 from July 2021 onward, the kit includes 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm plates, giving you the flexibility to fine-tune your steering stop position depending on your tyre size and wheel offset. By reducing how far the wheels can turn, it prevents inner guard contact and helps protect your vehicle from unnecessary damage.
CNC cut and folded from high-strength 350-grade mild steel and supplied raw for easy welding, these stops are built to last and hold up under serious off-road use. Whether you’re touring, towing, or tackling tough tracks, this simple, effective mod is essential when upgrading to larger tyres. Please Note: Due to regulatory variations throughout Australia, it is recommended that prior to fitment of this part being carried out, confirmation from your local/ state transport authority needs to be obtained as to the correct welding procedure required for approval. Superior Engineering recommends that the minimum welding requirement must meet or exceed Australian Standard AS 1554 Structural steel welding. In general, for approval purposes, this part needs to be fitted by a certified welded who has performed and understands the correct welding procedure that is required and can supply required certification or paperwork as deemed.
FITTING NOTE: ENSURE MATCHED STEERING STOPS ARE USED ON BOTH SIDES. DO NOT MIX DIFFERENT THICKNESSES.
