Front End

The front of your Outback Explorer Ranger is held up by our Australian made heavy duty coil springs; finished in our Signature Superior Silver powder coat for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These coils keep your ride height consistent when you pack the roof rack, drawers and long-range fuel; give predictable handling when the road gets rough; and deliver confident steering feel whether you are towing or loaded for a months-long trip.

Upper Control Arms

All Outback Explorer Kits include a pair of SS400 boxed plate upper control arms engineered to restore and improve wheel geometry after a lift. These UCAs fine tune camber and castor eliminating uneven tyre wear, and returning steering geometry so your Ranger tracks like it should. The boxed plate construction, provides add strength and protects the coil spring during full articulation, so when the track gets rough you have the clearance and durability to keep going.

Shocks

All Outback Explorer Kits come with the option of Superior Engineering 2.0 remote reservoir shock absorbers front and rear, or our 2.5 inch 3-way adjustable remote reservoir shocks (coming soon). Even the standard 2.0s offer exceptional heat management and consistent damping under long distance corrugations, but the 2.5 3-Ways add external high-speed compression and rebound adjustment for precise control over harsh hits, body control and towing stability.

Every shock features an easy-access compression adjuster knob, allowing you to tune on the fly, suitable for laden touring, mixed on-road/off-road driving or full-on off-road abuse

Wheels, Tyres & Speedo Correction

Our 4 inch Outback Explorer kits are developed to work with real wheel and tyre combinations, legally pre-registrable with tyres up to 35x12.5R17 and wheel offsets from OE to POS18. That means improved off-road traction, better approach and departure angles and a more confident stance on the highway.

We include a calibrated Superior CANBUS speedo correction module tuned to your nominated tyre size, so your speedo, odometer and safety systems keep working accurately after the upgrade

Rear End

The centrepiece of every Outback Explorer GVM upgrade is the heavy duty leaf spring pack designed to carry the extra load with confidence. Paired with polyurethane bushes, 2 inch extended shackles, greasable fixed pins and a U-bolt kit, the rear end is built to cope with heavy gear, canopies, caravans and everything you need for real adventure.

Brakes

When you raise GVM you need braking you can trust. Superior Outback Explorer Kits include Braided Brake Lines in the rear, giving you a consistent pedal feel and reduced line expansion under load or when loaded to your new 3,800KG GVM. It also allows for maximum articulation, without worrying about stretching your brake lines, compromising your safety on the drive home.

Chassis Brace

Every Outback Explorer PY Ranger package includes a weld-on chassis brace and repair plate kit developed to support the increased GVM and reinforce stress points. This is not cosmetic, it is a structural upgrade that reduces fatigue, extends chassis life and protects your investment when you are towing heavy loads, running full touring gear or using the vehicle in rough conditions.

The Little Things

The kit includes dozens of small but crucial components that make the whole system work together. From extended sway bar links, headlight adjustment brackets and tailshaft spacers, these items correct geometry, clearances and driveline angles so you do not get annoying vibrations, headlight misalignment or rubbing tyres. We also supply Superior branded mudflaps, LED Category 6 indicators and wheel arch extensions matched to your OEM colour code. All practical upgrades that keep the look tidy and the build compliant

Guard Decals

We include chrome Outback Explorer guard decals so your vehicle looks the part and announces its credentials. It is a small finishing touch that signals your Ranger has been purpose-built and approved for heavier duty use; people notice the detail and it adds to resale confidence.

Keep it Legal

Superior Engineering Outback Kits are federally approved Australia wide when fitted before the vehicle’s first registration; that approval covers the 4 inch lift, 3,800kg GVM and tyres up to 35 inches in the pre-registration pathway. Kits are supplied through Superior Engineering or our approved production facilities so the work is documented and compliant.
