Winter is here
Our last long weekend until Melbourne Cup has been & gone here in Victoria. We took the opportunity to go away for 3 days & revist more of Mt Cole & Enfield State Forest areas. The dirt bikes even got pulled out of the naughty corner for a dust off!
 
We visited some great little huts & found some historic sites out there as well as took in the views from Mt Cole scenic lookout. We definitely are lucky in Australia to have access to so much nature surrounding us.
 
We have been extremely busy in both the workshop the past month, finishing off more Superior Outback kits, general servicing, suspension upgrades & much more. Winch installs were extremely popular as well as tyre & wheel packages with everyone prepping for winter, we installed 4 Runva winches in 2 days & 5 sets of Maxxis Razrs in 3! Dont forget we do ship Auswide & can even help you with tyres all around Australia. We can freight or organise collection at a local point to you.
 
Looking forward, Victoria still has COVID-19 restrictions, we still are offering contactless points & social distancing where required. Good news was also announced as sporting events are set to resume & we have winch challenge racing returning. Wild Dog Winch Challenge is set to race within a few weeks & though we wont be racing this event we will be sure to go along & check it out if restrictions allow. We are aiming to take the new build to Outback Challenge in September so we will spend the time before then to finish the GU Patrol in order to compete there. The organisers have also created a spectator tourer package for those thinking about heading to outback NSW to watch teams compete. We will also be helping out at the upcoming SXS (side by side) event in July held at Traralgon. We had so much fun helping out last year we have signed up to do it all again.

Franklins blue Nissan GQ Patrol was in for a visit not long ago.

We love these "grandpa spec"builds and Frankin has owned his GQ forever, loves the car, but the TB42 was thirsty and very underwhelming to to drive.

The solution was to add a 6ltr engine conversion and swap out the old RE4 with a 6l80e!

 Now this old gal has some serious poke to her, with fully operational tiptronic 6 speed auto, this thing just makes smiles per miles.

 We kept as much of the factory feel as we could & upgraded others to get the most out of the new additions. alot of custom piping & finished off with a new exhaust before adding some Koni 88 shocks for some added comfort.

 This is one of the nicest most drivable GQ's we have seen here at The 4WD Shed and when you plant your foot this thing smokes rubber!!
