Driving Light Wiring Harness Guide

The Ignite Driving Light Wiring Harness Kit along with its accessories, is the most comprehensive Driving Light wiring kit to be released to date and is specifically designed to install any of the Ignite Driving Lights, Lightbars or Worklamps to your vehicle.

It is a complete Premium Heavy Duty Wiring Harness kit that features easy “Plug and Play” connections via a range of adaptor harnesses for a quick do-it-yourself installation. It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3 … providing multiple lighting combinations to be all plugged into the one harness. All components are of high quality fittings to ensure a professional finish and enable tool-free fitment. No tools, no experience required for fast and easy universal fitment.

Supplied with a 12 Volt 60amp Relay mounted on a pre-wired base with further electronics enclosed, allowing the wiring harness to be suitable for both positive or negative switched vehicles. The wiring harness leads are enclosed in Flexible Braided Tubing thus allowing for easy pull-through firewalls or grommets and also providing complete protection against the wires being accidentally pinched or cut.

Section 1 Connections

There are five separate leads that split away from the relay and its mounting base, they are all clearly labelled of their required connections and they are:

1 x Power Supply Lead (Red wire)
The power supply lead has an inline weatherproof Maxi Blade Fuse Holder containing a 40amp fuse along with a terminated eyelet terminal providing simple installation to the battery positive terminal.

1 x Earth Lead (Black wire)
The earth lead is also supplied with a terminated eyelet terminal for easy connection to the battery negative terminal.

1 x Headlamp Lead with a Female Deutsch connector.
The headlamp lead connects to all the different Headlamp Adaptor Harness Kits, allowing for the lights to function with the high beam circuit (refer to application listing for the range of different headlight adaptors).

1 x Switch Lead with small plug
The switch lead connects the Rocker switch that is included in the kit. It provides manual On/Off operation of the lights. The small plug on the lead is ideal in providing easy access to pull the lead through a firewall grommet and also allowing the installer the ability to use an existing grommet without having to drill any further holes in the firewall.

1 x Lamps Lead with Male Deutsch connector
The lamps lead provides connection to the driving lamps or lightbar via an adaptor harness (refer to application listing for the range of different adaptor harnesses depending on what type of lamp is being installed). If you are installing a large lightbar (ILB600, ILB800, ILB900, ILBC600, ILBC900 or ILBC1300) then this plug will directly connect to the Deutsch connector on the lightbar.

The Wiring Harness is also supplied with an On/Off Blue LED Illuminated Rocker Switch that has a Driving Light imprint on the actuator. The Rocker Switch also comes pre-wired with 500mm of wire protected by small convoluted tubing, as well as the matching small plug to connect into the main wiring loom. Another Switch loom is further included. It is similar in appearance to the previous switch loom mentioned but comes with no switch and is supplied with a male green plug. This switch loom is for the customer who prefers to use an OE Push Button Switch (refer to application listing for the range of OE Switches) and does not want to use the Rocker Switch supplied in the kit. This loom has the matching small plug to connect into the main wiring loom.

Section 2 - Headlamp Adaptor Kits

There are six different Headlamp Adaptor Kits that provide simple plug in connection in between the driving light harness and the high beam headlight globe of the vehicle. There is also one universal headlamp adaptor kit. These Headlamp Adaptor Kits, allow for the driving lights or lightbar to legally function with the High Beam circuit of the vehicle. A comprehensive vehicle application guide listing is available, providing a complete and easy identification of the headlight globe type used for each particular vehicle. It’s that simple, look up your vehicle application and purchase the appropriate Headlamp Adaptor Kit. The Headlamp Adaptor Kit Part Numbers are:

Section 3 - Light Harness Adaptor Kits

Whether you are installing Driving Lights or a Lightbar or Driving Lights with a Lightbar or even multiple Lightbars, there are a further six different adaptor harnesses to use depending on what your lighting requirements are. All of these adaptor harnesses simply plug in between the Driving Light Harness and the lights you wish to install. A comprehensive lighting application guide listing is also available, providing a complete and easy identification of the parts required to complete the lighting installation to your vehicle. Again, it’s that simple,
look up your lighting application and purchase the appropriate Harness Adaptor Kit.

The Harness Adaptor Kits Part Numbers are:

IWH002
Driving Lights Y Harness Adaptor Kit
This Y Harness allows you to install 2 x driving lights or alternatively 2 x small or medium lightbars (ILB80, ILB150, ILB300 or ILB450).

IWH003
Driving lights and Lightbar W Harness No. 1 Adaptor Kit
This W Harness allows you to install 2 x driving lights and 1 x small or medium lightbar (ILB80, ILB150, ILB300 or ILB450).

IWH004
Driving lights and Lightbar W Harness No. 2 Adaptor Kit
This W Harness allows you to install 2 x driving lights and 1 x large lightbar (ILB600, ILB800, ILB900, ILBC600, ILBC900 or ILBC1300). A 60amp fuse is also supplied because this application will exceed the load limit of the 40amp fuse supplied standard in the IWH001 Driving Light Harness kit.

Section 3 - Light Harness Adaptor Kits

IWH010
4m Extension Harness
This 4m Extension Harness provides sufficient loom length for you to install driving lights or a lightbar on the roof of your vehicle or even on the rear sports bar in utility applications. It does comes with a terminated Deutsch connector on the lamp end because of the access requirements to drill holes for example on the rear sports bar of a utility.

IWH011
Harness Adaptor - Large Plug down to Small Plug
This Deutsch plug adaptor harness is primarily for those who wish to install 1 x small or medium lightbar (ILB80, ILB150, ILB300 or ILB450) to their vehicle and require the smaller Deutsch connector, as the IWH001 Driving Light Harness comes with the large Deutsch plug to suit the larger variety of lightbars.

IWH012
Headlight Extension Harness

The Headlight Extension Harness is for the user who wishes to use 2 x IWH001 Driving Light Harnesses for two separate circuits in their vehicle, providing the ability to reach the other headlight in the vehicle and to connect a second Headlight Adaptor kit.

Section 4 - OE Push Button Switches

As previously mentioned, the Wiring Harness is supplied with an On/Off Blue LED Illuminated Rocker Switch with loom or another Switch loom that has a male green plug that does not come with a switch, this additional switch loom (with the male green plug) is for the OE Push Button Switches (refer to the application listing for the range of OE Switches). There are 33 x OE Push Button Switches in the Ignite range to suit the Driving Light Harness. They are a direct fit for different vehicle applications, covering vehicles such as;

• Holden Colorado
• Isuzu D-Max / MU-X
• Toyota Landcruiser, Hilux, Prado, FJ Cruiser, RAV4
• Nissan Navara, Pathfinder, Patrol, X-Trail
• Mitsubishi Pajero, Triton, Challenger, Outlander

The OE Push Button Switches are ideal for the customer who does not want to modify the vehicles dash. Most vehicles already have an allocated space available for fitting more switches and they are normally covered by a simple blanking plate. The advantage with the OE Push Button Switches is that they will match or look similar to the existing switches already fitted in the vehicle and save the installer unnecessary time wasted drilling further holes. With LED Illumination and a symbol denoting the exact lighting application installed, they provide a clean and professional finish to the installation for your driving lights or lightbars.

Most of the OE Switch range have the matching illumination to that of the vehicles existing dash illumination or in some instances an alternative illumination colour is available. You will find three different lighting symbols available; Driving Lights, LED Lightbar and Roof Lamps. They are all 12 Volt, Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST), On/Off Push activation Switches.

So for example if you wish to install a set of the Ignite 9” LED Driving Lights to a 2014 RG Holden Colorado with an OE Switch, you would require the following components:

1 x IWH001 Ignite Driving Light Harness
1 x IWH006 Ignite H1 Headlight Adaptor Kit (car has H1 High Beam Globes)
1 x IWH002 Ignite Driving Lights Y Harness Adaptor Kit
1 x ISW000 Ignite OE Push Button Switch with Driving Light Symbol

So as you can see, the hardest part about using the Ignite Driving Light Harness, is making sure you purchase all the necessary components to suit your installation, it’s dead easy, here’s a great example of how easy it!
